About Driftwood Pools

Driftwood Pools were initially manufactured and marketed by 7-11 Pool Products based in Toronto, Ontario.  Technican Pool Products in Brantford, Ontario, Canada began manufacturing the Driftwood Pool following 7-11 Pool Products bankruptcy in the mid 1990’s.  Driftwood Pools feature 42″ – 14 gauge galvanized pool walls with a 5″ reinforced top and bottom rail which provides structural integrity to the straight walls when installation above ground.  The Driftwood Pool features a 12 gauge Buttress System that allows the the Driftwood pool shapes to be installed completely above ground or partially inground.  Initially, the Driftwood Pool, when manufactured by 7-11 Pool Products, consisted of two shapes the Octagon and Emerald.  Subsequently, Technican Pool Products added the Emerald II and Kidney shapes to the Brand.

7-11 Pool Products and later Technican Pool Products manufactured the Driftwood Brand.  In 2000 Technican was purchased by Latham – The Pool Company who continues to manufacture the Driftwood Pool for Pioneer Family Pools in Ontario, Canada.

How Thick is My Liner? Don't be Fooled...

If the term ‘gauge’ is being used, then you don’t know the thickness of the material used to manufacture your liner.  Pool Fits tells you the ‘mil’ thickness used to manufacture your liner, because a ‘mil’ is 1/1000 of an inch, so you know exaclty what your are buying.  Don’t be fooled by the term ‘gauge’, and ask the right questions:

What is the ‘mil’ thickness of the materail used to manufacture the liner?

Is the same ‘mil’ thickness material used on the wall and the floor of the liner or are those two different ‘mil’ thicknesses?
